Genes Testing

As I anxiously wait for my genes test results to come back, todays Zoom call went over all of the possibilities. Learning about each gene, the different scenarios and about all the different precautionary surgeries that are available. (Of which all seemed pretty terrifying.)

With no family history of Breast Cancer, and it coming out of nowhere we still can't rule out having one of the inherited gene mutations. As we chatted in length trying to get a better understanding of my medical background and giving them as much information as possible.

Although this call filled me with fear, and more unknowns it also amazed me. It was so fascinating, I felt in ore with learning about the science behind it all and how far we've come. It's mind blowing how in depth they can understand our genes, like did you know they can even test our embryos for certain genes?!

After an intense hour we wrapped things up and I left that meeting feeling emotionally drained. There was a HUGE amount of information overload with a lot of unknown 'what if' scenarios buzzing around my head.

Back to the waiting game, and 8 weeks to find out my results...
